This understanding forms the foundation of our efforts to operate responsibly and reduce our environmental footprint wherever possible.

From sourcing materials sustainably to optimizing our production processes, HID continuously seeks ways to lessen our impact. HID’s approach is grounded in the knowledge that sustainable business practices require dedication at every level of our organization. We’re unwavering in our pursuit of responsible solutions, and we take every opportunity to make meaningful improvements.

By focusing on responsible sourcing, we prioritize materials that minimize environmental impact, including using eco-friendly components where possible. But we know that sustainability extends beyond just materials — it requires a holistic approach that encompasses energy efficiency, waste reduction, and continually refining how we work to ensure we’re meeting our sustainability goals.

HID’s Sustainable Initiatives 

Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in several key initiatives, particularly our recent solar panel project in Malaysia:

• Our main factory in Malaysia has a total solar capacity of 620 kWp, generating approximately 781 MWh of annual solar electricity, which reduces carbon emissions by 547 tons each year
• The solar panels convert sunlight into usable energy, powering our highly automated factory operations, which include equipment for producing cards and RFID tags. In May and June 2024 alone, we produced a total of 188 MWh from our solar installations.
• The solar project began in early 2022. After nearly two years of planning and installation, the project became operational in May 2024, in collaboration with Solarvest, the leading clean energy expert in Asia Pacific.
• We aim to expand solar installations as energy demands grow and continue to enhance our sustainability initiatives, including the development of sustainable product solutions like bamboo cards and biodegradable options
• Our sustainability efforts also extend to community initiatives including planting trees in a mangrove area nearby the factory, reinforcing our dedication to environmental stewardship
