Exploring Mainland Europe’s First Deployment of Employee Badge in Apple Wallet: Warsaw’s Q22 Tower

Sharry, a workplace experience platform centered in digital employee badges, is forging new ground in Eastern Europe. They recently partnered with HID to implement our first employee badge in Apple Wallet deployment in mainland Europe at the neomodern Q22 high rise in Warsaw, Poland — and they’re receiving rave reviews.

As the class A office building, Q22 must strive for a class A experience. Therefore, it's reasonable they decided to launch an employee badge in Apple Wallet that is easy, convenient, and secure. We are delighted to be among the first to deliver this technology in Europe, as we did in the U.S., said Jakub Řezníček, Chief Solutions Architect and Co-Founder at Sharry.

This solution grants Q22 employees and guests access to the building, their workplaces and shared amenities conveniently and securely, with just a wave of their iPhone or Apple Watch. Meanwhile, property management and building tenants can use the very same app to process guest invitations, keep track of parking reservations, schedule event and marketing activities, and communicate special offers.

Unlimited Possibilities for an Unmatched Experience

What does it mean to connect all of these systems in a single platform? Only access to everything Q2 guests and tenants could possibly need — right from their phone or watch. Here are some favorites:

  • Elevators
  • Fitness club
  • Shopping arcade
  • Restaurant reservations
  • Visitor management
  • Waste reporting

With Express Mode, employees at Q22 don’t need to wake or unlock their Apple devices to use the virtual badge. They can unlock doors in a second and get in faster than ever before. And if their device runs out of battery, their Apple Wallet credential will still work for up to five hours.

The mobile convenience also means less plastic (cards) — a key factor for reducing Q22’s carbon footprint and meeting their sustainability goals.

Leading the Way in Smarter Buildings

The exceptional status of the 42 above-ground-story office building has been confirmed by several external authorities. In May 2023, Q22 became the first occupied building in Central and Eastern Europe to be awarded with SmartScore certification — attesting to their delivery of outstanding outcomes for all users, through digital technology, to exceed their evolving expectations.

“Q22 is an exceptional example of a building that keeps updating its technology and elevating the offer for the occupiers over time. This landmark tower of Warsaw has already updated its building management system (BMS), access control, added carbon footprint tracking system, introduced a tenant platform, and now leads the way for state-of-art access with Apple Wallet,“ says Renata Hartle, Technology Solutions Director in Colliers, who supported Invesco in SmartScore certification.

Congratulations, Q22 and Sharry. We can’t wait to see what you do next in this iconic building, and we’re right here to take those leaps with you.
