Universal Access Doesn’t Have to Mean Compromised Security

We live in an increasingly connected world, which makes it more challenging than ever to ensure the right people have access to the right things at the right time.  In the past, IT and IT security groups have defaulted towards locking things down to protect their companies and organizations.   This is critical to protecting your sensitive information and resources, but I contend that with advances in authentication methods and devices, it’s time to trust the technology and put the focus back on the employee user experience.  If you don’t, your company’s productivity will suffer needlessly.

We’re excited to announce the availability of the first episode of a three part podcast series discussing The Connected Enterprise.  Our first episode, Universal Access, takes a deeper look into how the connected enterprise impacts employee productivity, access and user experience.

In this podcast, I take you through the user and technology trends that are forcing – and allowing – companies all over the globe to streamline their authentication and access policies and procedures to not only increase productivity, but increase their corporate security as well.  I also examine how convergence can improve employees’ user experience and satisfaction.

There are various ways organizations can secure their digital and physical resources while minimizing the impact on employee productivity.  Advanced smartcards can now deliver access to both doors and your computing resources – like laptops, tablets, networks and applications.
